I liked the colour of this mug the moment I saw it. It looks like a metallic car paint with characteristic shiny sparks. I toyed with some ideas how to paint it for a long time and finally it struck me it would be a nice background for the Union Jack. The mug was my donation for a school charity auction. Ryuk is one of the main characters from a brilliant manga and anime Death Note. He's a 'shinigami' that is god of death. As he was bored, he dropped his Death Notebook from his world onto Earth to have some fun watching a human handling it. The whole series keeps you glued to two guys' game of outsmarting each other over the notebook in question. A must-see. The tea pot featuring Ryuk is a gift for my brother - a true fan of this series. To tell the truth I used a printed picture under the glass to make things easier when it comes to right proportions.
